Summer class

We really dig our friends at winchester village elementary in perry township. They've given us an awful lot. Most recently, we were given the opportunity to print these snazzy tees for their summer school students to wear during field trips. They also drummed up some business for us from another school in the township. Well played, wildcats.

Here's the work space in the newly cleaned and partially carpeted summer sweat shoppe/garage. Things are just starting to heat up.

Product placement

After a well-placed jaunt to st. louis with the janes and the doctor, we arrive home to boxes of apparel intended for printing upon. Many will be distributed to clients; Some will become homes for dudes like the one being awakened below.

In any case, we do have our work cut out for us, indeed.

Starlight sunshine children

Here's a collaborative effort by baby jane and myself. Note the colourful kite upon the doctor's blazing red sleeper. It looks as though these kids fell asleep in the sun. I believe this piece may or may not have been something created as a gift for mama jane in celebration of mother's day. However, it all becomes a little fuzzy when baby jane spends approximately two weeks leading up to a particular holiday adorning the recipient with gifts.

Regardless, here's to you moms.

Goodnight nobody

At long last, another long-playing album of original song for the people to enjoy. We welcomed the new collection in to the world by performing songs from this and previous projects at the strange brew coffee house. Twas a magical evening in which friends and families were dazzled by sweaty howling and attempted guitar demolition. Our incredibly talented friend, scott hensley, also wowed us all with an opening set of majestic fingerpicking and poetry. What a treat.

Get the new record here.

Now, here's kind of what the scene looked like from the crowd, courtesy of a rad guy who goes by the name derek arza:

Thanks, all.

Ride on

I've recently had the pleasure of getting to know a really rad guy named derek who recently traversed westward from indy to cali on his bicycle. You can read all about it here. Upon his return home, he started up a bi-weekly ride for ladies and dudes in the greater indianapolis area. Click that link, y'all. Also, besides donning a badass beard to be reckoned with, he took the liberty of hiring us to produce that fly logo for the endeavor.

Mister basbagill, we salute you!

Singin' in the breeze

We have amazing friends. Two of those friends just so happen to be scott hensley and court wilkins. They are old thyme eskimo. They make beautiful music with all their strummin' and pickin' and blendin' of magical voices and what not. Recently, we set up a microphone in our backyard and punched record whilst the eskimo delighted us with their sweetness. Here's a listen:

Old Thyme Eskimo - Still Gonna Die

We're calling it 'field record' and you can pick one up when you come out to see them perform at the strange brew coffee house next friday night. I'll be there as well promoting my new record titled 'goodnight nobody'. Here's a visual reminder:

We'll see you there. Wink.

Foldie gold

On the first day of 2012, whilst stopping for lunch on our way back from a cabin in the woods, my brother from another mother and i began discussing an idea for a collective video project. It was a lofty dream, but one which my cohort has not given up on over the past four months. The idea was for several old pals to create 40-second vignettes using video to be strung together into one singular piece. The catch was that each subsequent participant would only receive the final few seconds of the preceding video to inform the direction of their own piece. The following is the result of the first project. It's kind of a glorious mess which makes me smile every time i watch it.

Our second project was created with less strict perimeters, but it's pretty great. Try to connect the dots and watch for baby jane's amazing portrayal of janeane the secretary.

Tell your friends.

Paper towel time lapse

Mama jane and i spent many a past few day destroying our ugly green countertop - which we've tolerated for far too long - and resurfacing it to better suit our taste. Twas certainly one of the more daring home improvement efforts we've undertaken since we acquired this joint.

Sunday night, we sanded the crap out of the countertops whilst the wee ones slept.

Monday night, we painted the countertops and suffocated them with decorative flecks. After a handful of hours, we woke from a brief slumber and did quite a bit more sanding. Smooth.

Tuesday night, after some chicken and cheese cake with our neighborhood bros, we iced our handiwork with a glossy finish. Boom.

Now, if you think you might like to resurface YOUR countertops, do yourself a favor and just buy some new ones. Peace out.

Gain a cow, lose a window

We brought a cow home with us for the week. Things were going so well until he decided to throw a rave in our bedroom closet.

Mixtape day

I want to make more of these little dudes and just leave them around a town near you: between books at the library, inside mailboxes, in dressing rooms at walmart, between the unkempt cushions of a thrift store sofa, etcetera. If you would like to be a part of this guerilla affair, please help me track down a working tape deck. Mine's gone troppo, y'all. Or you could just make your own tapes and follow suit. Ready, set, go.
